According to Dr. Joseba Achotegui, a faculty member of University of Barcelona, and Program Director of a Post-graduate Specialization on Mental Health on Immigrants, Minorities and Social Excluded, his research studies show the existence of 7 Griefs an Immigrant may experience or is at risk depending on their migratory experience and their response to stress, hardship, mental health predispositions, adaptability, and more.
An Immigrant, an Exiled or an Ex-pat maybe at risk to these conditions depending of the hardships in their migratory experience or even if is at risk of deportation. The name varies if the person has moved voluntarily or has being displaced against his/her will from their country of origin to another, or is living in temporary camps.

Disclaimer: I do not advocate for illegal immigration, and I believe that not all immigrants are criminals but hard working people who desire a better life. These resources are available to support everybody’s mental health at a critical time in USA; a great country built by immigrants.
